Summer 2011
Ava: We play a game at school called Boys Against Girls
I'm on the boy's team.

Spring 2011
Ava: I don't like these sprinkles.
Me: How can you not like sprinkles? They're just sugar.
Ava: No, these sprinkles are made of cardboard.

Summer 2010
Me (after seeing a smudge on Ava's arm): What's on your arm? Is that dirt?Ava: No, I'm just turning brown like Daddy.

April 2010
Me: what is taking him so long?
Ava: he should really get his ask out here.
Me: that's not nice. We shouldn't say that.
Ava: you can say that.
Me: I can?
Ava: yes, because you speak Spanish.
